About L’Étoile thoracique, Klô Pelgag's second album released in 2016: "The science fiction and magical realism of the singer are intertwined here with very tangible situations beyond their poetic diffraction - romanticism, desire, self-abandonment, insomnia, whimsical reflection on the wax characters at the Grévin Museum." - La Presse
Carrying an entire universe of baroque, absurd songs, the damsel charms and unsettles us with her gorgeously crafted music driven by an instinctive desire to challenge her own purpose. “What I write is always full of contrasting elements, because I enjoy baffling myself. When everything fits together too neatly, it can quickly become tiresome.” This resulted in the 13 tracks of L’Étoile thoracique, a freewheeling fresco that has the artist weaving a sprawling concerto. This opus also won several awards: the 2017 Prix Rapsat-Lelièvre, the Prix de la chanson SOCAN, a spot on the Long List of the Polaris Music Prize, four Félix awards at the Gala de L’ADISQ (Album of the Year — Critics’ Choice, Alternative Album of the Year, Singer-Songwriter of the Year, Record Producer of the Year), as well as a nomination at the 2018 JUNO Awards (Francophone Album of the Year).
“The lyrics convey images that are alternately clear and impressionistic” – ICI Musique
“With her fluid, mischievous voice, Klô Pelgag never forgets to touch upon the grey, engulfing nuances of melancholia” – Libération
